Your role at ZorgDomein

As senior Software Engineer you are the trusted sparringpartner to the Product Manager and a technical anchor for your team. You will work in our Core Processes domain—the heart of our platform where we facilitate millions of patient referrals yearly to receive the appropriate care.

Your responsibilities include

• Technical Leadership: You take ownership of the technical design and delivery within your Bounded Context. You foresee the long-term consequences of architectural choices.

• Code Quality & Architecture: You ensure our codebase remains clean, well-optimized, and maintainable. You champion Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean architecture etc.

• Innovation & AI: You maximize effectiveness by integrating AI tools throughout the software engineering lifecycle. You drive innovation not just in your team, but across the broader engineering organization.

• Operational Excellence: You are responsible for monitoring platform health and key metrics to ensure continous improvement.

• Languages: Scala 3

• Libraries & Paradigms: ZIO, Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD, Hexagonal Architecture

• Architecture: Mirco-services, Event Streaming,

• Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Gitlab

About you

We are looking for a seasoned engineer who loves to learn and loves to share knowledge.

• Experience: You have roughly 10+ years of relevant experience in backend development.

• Technical Skills: You are deeply experienced in Scala (or Java with a strong desire to master Scala) and have experience in a micro-
services architecture.

• Mindset: You are proactive, independent, and an open-minded learner. You stay up to date on new tools and techniques naturally.

• Soft Skills: You are a team player who enjoys mentoring others and whose opinion carries strategic weight in technical discussions.
